Criteria for Athletes

1.    Athletes must graduate from Johnston High School (exceptions may be made for students from other schools who play their entire high school career for Johnston High)

2.    First Team All-State is an automatic qualifier, as long as citizenship does not eliminate the candidate.

3.    Citizenship at Johnston High School is the primary consideration; however, subsequent developments may impact the status of the nominee.

4.    Open nominations will be solicited.

5.    Non-athletes may be considered, especially if they made significant contributions to the Athletic Program at JHS.

6.    There will be an automatic waiting period of five (5) years, after a student's graduation, before he/she may be considered for induction.

7.    Consideration will also be given for the following achievements:

a.    Second Team All-State

b.    Selection for All-League

c.     Participation in multiple sports

d.    Other noteworthy awards or achievements

8.    The athlete's entire body of work will be reviewed and discussed by the committee.

Criteria for Coaches

1.    Recognition(s) as "Coach of the Year" by Coaches Associations or League

2.    State Championship(s)

3.    Longevity

4.    Contributions to the Athletic Department & the school

5.    Other awards or achievements
