Social Studies Department
National History Day
The Social Studies department commends the Sixty-five students that participated in this year's National History Day. Students researched and wrote historical papers in Mrs. Bouvier and Mr. Bryson's 10th grade American History honors classes. This year's theme was Triumph and Tragedy in History. Eight students were selected to participate in the senior category at the state competition at Rhode Island College.

Field Trip
On a frigid December day, Mr. Bryson's Rhode Island History and Mr Donovan's AP US History students and Mrs. Guilmette, visited the resplendent Guided Age mansions in Newport.

Holocaust
JHS social studies teachers Mr. Erik Bryson and Mrs. Ami Gada-Blazejewski (pictured), participated in a one day professional development workshop on Holocaust education in Pawtucket. Teaching the Holocaust, Empowering Students is a workshop that supports curriculum development and provides valuable information and resources for our teachers.
