Student Leadership

Student leadership is an important part of the Johnston Senior High School experience. Through Student Council and Class Councils, students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, serve their school community, organize events, and help shape the traditions that make JHS unique. These organizations provide students with a meaningful voice while fostering responsibility, collaboration, and school pride.

Student Council

Student Council gives students the opportunity to make a positive impact on Johnston Senior High School by planning events, supporting school traditions, and serving as the voice of the student body. Members develop leadership skills while working together to strengthen school spirit and build a positive school community.

Class Coucil

Class Council gives students the opportunity to represent their classmates, organize fundraisers and events, and help shape the traditions of their graduating class. Through leadership, teamwork, and service, members work together to create memorable experiences while preparing for milestones such as prom, senior activities, and graduation.

Each graduating class elects its own Class Council to serve as the voice of the class. Every Class Council consists of nine student leaders: an executive board made up of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Media Advisor, along with four Members-at-Large who work together to represent the interests of their classmates and support class activities throughout the school year.
