Credit Recovery provides students with a structured opportunity to earn credit for previously failed courses and remain on track for graduation. Students complete guided coursework both independently and during scheduled in-person sessions.

Credit Recovery Eligibility
Each grade has different eligibility requirements to be enrolled in credit recovery.
Eligibility does not guarantee enrollment. Course placement is determined by the student’s school counselor based on graduation needs, available space, and program capacity with priority given to students in higher grades.
9th graders are generally not eligible for credit recovery as it is their first year of high school will not have any classes to make up.
Semester courses that are failed in the first semester can be taken in credit recovery in the second semester provided the student earned at least a 50 in the original class.
Students may recover a previously failed course if they earned a final grade of 50 or higher.
Students may recover courses failed with a grade of 50 or higher. Juniors may also recover failed ninth-grade courses regardless of the original grade.
Seniors may recover any previously failed course. In some circumstances, seniors may also complete a course for first-time credit to meet a graduation requirement.

Credit Recovery Expectations
- Attend each scheduled session for the full period
- Arrive prepared with their school-issued laptop
- Complete assigned work outside of scheduled sessions
- Follow all school rules and Credit Recovery procedures
- Keep cellphones secured in their Yondr pouches
- Complete required assessments during in-person sessions
- Maintain satisfactory progress throughout the semester
- Submit a signed student and parent/guardian agreement
Students who miss two or more Credit Recovery sessions may be removed from the program.
Course Completion
Most Credit Recovery courses contain multiple parts that must all be completed before credit can be awarded. Students who successfully complete the entire course will receive the recovered credit and a grade of 65 on their transcript. Progress in an incomplete course does not result in partial credit.
