Social-Emotional & Mental Health Support

Social-Emotional and Mental Health Supports at JHS

JHS provides social-emotional and mental-health support to help students navigate challenges, develop healthy coping skills, build positive relationships, and remain connected to school. Students are encouraged to reach out whenever they need support for themselves or someone else.

JHS's SEL Supports for Students

How To Ask For Help

Students may seek support by speaking with their school counselor, social worker, psychologist, administrator, teacher, nurse, or another trusted adult. Families may contact their student’s school counselor or the main office when they have concerns about a student’s social-emotional well-being.

Students do not need to know exactly which professional to contact. Any trusted staff member can help connect them with the appropriate support.

Privacy and Safety

School staff respects student privacy while taking necessary action when safety concerns arise. The website and staff email should not be used for emergencies. If a student may be in immediate danger, contact the school or emergency services directly.
