Law, Public Safety, & Criminal Justice

The Johnston High School Law, Public Safety & Criminal Justice Program is a RIDE-approved Career and Technical Education pathway that prepares students for careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, emergency services, forensic science, and legal professions. Through hands-on learning, case-based investigations, and real-world experiences, students develop critical thinking, investigative, leadership, and communication skills while exploring the criminal justice system and forensic science. In partnership with Roger Williams University, students have the opportunity to earn Early Enrollment Program (EEP) college credit in both Criminal Justice and Forensic Science courses, providing a valuable head start toward college while preparing for postsecondary education, industry careers, and public service professions.
