Electrical CTE Pathway

The Johnston High School Electrical Program, a RIDE-approved Career and Technical Education pathway utilizing the Home Builders Institute (HBI) curriculum, prepares students for successful careers in the electrical and construction trades. Through hands-on, industry-based training, students develop skills in residential wiring, electrical theory, blueprint reading, safety, tools, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Students have the opportunity to earn their OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification and HBI industry credentials while preparing for apprenticeships, postsecondary education, and careers in the skilled trades.

Mr. Robert Gianfrancesco

Meet Mr. Gianfrancesco, a proud Johnston High School Class of 1986 graduate. Mr. G has spent the last 39 years working as an electrician, 21 years teaching apprentices through IBEW Local 99 at night and inspiring high school students through public education in the classroom during the day!

As a Master Electrician, Mr. G’s goal extends far beyond preparing students for a specific job. His mission is tomake sure every student is “apprentice-ready”, equipping them with the work ethic, problem-solving skills, professionalism and perserverence needed to be successful in any career path they may choose.

Johnston Senior High School is incredibly proud to have Mr. Gianfrancesco leading the next generation of Panthers to become skills trades professionals!
