The Johnston High School Business & Finance Program, a RIDE-approved Career and Technical Education pathway, prepares students for careers in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and management through engaging, real-world experiences. Students apply classroom learning by operating the school store and managing the Panther Pen Print Shop, where they develop skills in graphic design, branding, production, customer service, and business operations. Through hands-on projects and authentic workplace experiences, students build the professional, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills needed for college, industry certifications, and careers in today's dynamic business world.

9th Grade: Intro to Business & Entrepreneurship
Explore business fundamentals in Semester 1, then build entrepreneurial skills by developing ideas, plans, and real-world ventures in Semester 2.
10th Grade: Accounting I
Build a foundation in accounting by learning financial records, transactions, budgeting, and reporting through practical, real-world applications.
11th Grade: AP Personal Financial Literacy
Build real-world financial skills in budgeting, credit, investing, taxes, insurance, and money management while earning potential AP credit.
12th Grade: Accounting II or III
Advance your accounting skills through real-world applications, financial analysis, reporting, and increasingly complex business scenarios.
